Mrs Peris Mudida is the Interim Head of Tea Directorate. She is an advocate of the High Court of Kenya and holds a Bachelors of Law degree (LL. B Hons). Mrs Mudida is a Certified Public Secretary (CPS), holds a Post Graduate diploma in law from the Kenya school of law, a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management (Part 1) and also a Certificate in Supply Chain Management from the International Trade Centre (ITC). Mrs Mudida is a regulation and corporate governance specialist and is currently finalizing her Masters degree in law specializing in Corporate Governance. She has worked in both the public and private sector and has over 20 years’ professional work experience.

Samuel Njane is the Manager, Regulations & Compliance in the Tea Directorate. He holds a BSc. (Agricultural Education and Extension from Egerton University and a Master’s in Business Administration (Strategic Management from Moi University.He is a trained and Certified Tea Master in Tea Production, Processing & Marketing from Zhangzhou Tea College, China; He is also an International Registered Certified Lead Auditor (IRCA) - in Food Safety Management Systems (ISO 22000) and an Auditor -in Quality Management Systems (QMS ISO 9001:2008,). Samuel has been trained in Senior Management Course, (SMC) and Senior Leadership Development Progamme, (SLDP), (Kenya School of Government and is a Member of Kenya Institute of Management.

Samuel is a member of the Tea Technical committee in Tea Standards development at KEBS and was awarded Certificate of Recognition on Tea Standards development by KEBS in 2012) for his input in the development of the Tea Code of Practice Industry . He is a member of the International Codex Committee on Pesticides Residues (CCPR) and in Intergovernmental Group on Tea (FAO/IGG representing on matters of Tea Quality and trade.

Willy holds a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (Crop Science) from University of Nairobi, Finalizing Masters in Business Administration (Entrepreneur option) at Kenya Methodist University Certified hold of Tea Masters certificate from Zhangzhou College of Science and Tea Technology, China and Diploma in Human Resource Management-Kenya Institute of Management and a Certified Lead Auditor. He has a senior management course at Kenya School of Government. Willy is a Lead Consultant in Tea Value Chain and Tea Business Developments in East Africa and a Climate Change Team Leader in the Tea Industry Technical Working group in Kenya.

Earlier, Willy was a Farm Manager at Nile Heritage Ltd and Tea Services Assistant at Kenya Tea Development Agency, Tegat Tea Factory. His expertise is in quality production management, change management, Tea business development, Technical and Advisory Services expert in Tea agronomic practices, crop productivity improvement, Climate change policy and mitigation measures advocacy, Business Innovations and Developments, Tea Value chain analysis and Integrated pest management strategies.
